The Backwoods Angler was founded in 2000 by Blaine Mengel, Jr., and offers professionally guided smallmouth bass fishing trips on the Delaware River, Susquehanna River, Schuylkill River and other select waters in Eastern and Central PA. I am a PA registered guide (Permit # 176), and I am fully insured by Jack Martin & Assoc. Insurance Co., in MD. I am certified in CPR, First Aid and Water Safety. The Backwoods Angler utilized the finest products in the industry. I am sponsored by Pradco Lures, Mizmo Bait Company, Don's Handcrafted Jigs, Shimano, Gamma Fishing Line and Case Plastics . I am a member of the Delaware Valley Outdoors Pro Staff.

I am host of Backwoods Angler TV, which will premiere on VERSUS/NBC Sports on July 25, 2011! I do speaking engagements on Delaware River smallmouth bass fishing. I contribute a weekly fishing report for The Morning Call newspaper. I have been featured in BASS, Bassin, Field & Stream, and In-Fishermen magazines. I am a freelance writer for The Reading Eagle newspaper and New Jersey Angler magazine. Backwoods Angler operate 12 months per year and 7 days per week.
